Data Scientist
London based with 1 day in the office
About the role
At LexisNexis we develop the legal profession’s most innovative products for data analysis, visualization, and research. This is an exciting opportunity to do cutting edge data science in the Legal Tech space, working on a global scale and with one of the largest proprietary corpuses in the industry. We recently launched a new analytics product to make better use of our data, and we are now looking to expand this offering. We are now looking for someone to help accelerate progress on this new and exciting product, finding more ways to help our clients make better decisions through analysing data.
We are looking for a talented Data Scientist with expertise in NLP and a curiosity in the Legal sector to help give our customers the best possible experience. In this role you will support this new product by helping the team to add more sources of data, be more intelligent about the analyses we offer, and use data tools to collate, model, interpret, and develop visualisations.
As a data scientist on our team, you will work on new product development in a small team environment writing production code in both run-time and build-time environments. You will help propose and build data-driven solutions for high-value customer problems by discovering, extracting, and modeling knowledge from large-scale natural language datasets. You will prototype new ideas, collaborating with other data scientists as well as product designers, data engineers, front-end developers, and a team of expert legal data annotators. You will get the experience of working in a start-up culture with the large datasets and many other resources of an established company.
